Alabama police officer strikes, kills pedestrian who stepped into roadway in fog

An Alabama police officer struck a pedestrian early Tuesday; the man later died of his injuries.
Mobile police said one of their officers was driving on Interstate 10 in the fog early Tuesday when the accident happened.
The 74-year-old man whose identity was not immediately identified reportedly walked into the lane of traffic and was struck.
