Although the greater risk for severe weather is tomorrow, parts of Alabama are being monitored by the Storm Prediction Center for some isolated severe weather today.

The northwestern corner of the state falls under a Level 2 risk with the possibility of a few severe thunderstorms, large hail, heavy rain, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado. The threat level has actually increased for this region as confidence has increased in the possibility of some severe storms.

A Level 1 risk stretches southwards and includes Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, and Anniston. This area could see a couple severe storms with large hair and damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour.

North Alabama

Central Alabama

Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. High near 80. More showers and storms tonight with a low near 65.

South Alabama

Cloudy, becoming sunny with a few showers or thunderstorms possible. High of 83. Tonight, increasing clouds with a few more showers or thunderstorms. Low of 66.

Gulf Coast

Patchy fog early, then mostly cloudy with a high of 79. Mostly cloudy tonight with a low of 67.
