Two Alabama inmates died over the weekend at a state prison, officials said, though the causes were not immediately clear.

Both of the inmates were incarcerated at the William Donaldson Correctional Facility in Jefferson County.

Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the first inmate, identified as Trenton Jamario White, 30, was found unresponsive in his cell Saturday morning. Yates said the autopsy indicated no signs of foul play or trauma. White’s cause of death was listed as pending the results of additional tests.

White was serving a 40-year sentence for robbery attempted murder and other charges.

The second inmate was not immediately identified as authorities sought to contact the inmate’s family.

He was described only as a 61-year-old man serving life for a murder conviction in 1989. He, too, was found unresponsive in his cell by another inmate. He autopsy results are pending.
