An Alabama man is accused crashing his vehicle into his girlfriend’s vehicle, shooting her and putting her into the trunk of the car, police said.

Cedric Dewayne Robertson, 37, is accused of killing Nakita Chantryce “Kita” Davidson, 40, the mother of four he had been dating.

Although he was arrested Friday initially on kidnapping charges, a capital murder warrant was issued for Robertson on Sunday.

Birmingham police were called at 2:11 a.m. Thursday to the report of a wreck at Sixth Avenue SW and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Investigators said they found evidence of a shooting at the scene of a wreck. They found Davidson’s car Friday in the woods off 18th Place SW. They found her body in the trunk.
