Residents heard gunshots, then found dead teen next morning in Alabama neighborhood, deputies say

Residents told Alabama criminal investigators that they heard gunshots on Monday night, but no one reported the gunshots to law enforcement. The next morning, the dead body of an 18-year-old was found riddled with bullets.

Mobile County Sheriff’s Office investigators said they have begun an investigation after the body of Evangelo Johnson, 18, was found near the intersection of Chieftain Way and Iroquois Street Tuesday morning.

Johnson had reportedly been shot multiple times, sheriff’s office investigators said.

Residents in the area told investigators they heard gunshots at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday.
