Alabama Skies: Soggy weather arriving for Sunday before big cool down

Sunday will be a great day to rest or catch up on indoor chores as rain, sometimes heavy, is likely across most of the state.

Northern communities will only have a slight chance of rain, but the rest of the state could get up to another inch or two of rainfall before the front finally moves on out. Once it does, much cooler air enters the state to begin the week.

We’re still looking at widespread frost and freezing temperatures Monday night. It won’t last long, though, as we’ll warm up quickly, beginning Tuesday.

North Alabama

Mostly cloudy with a slight chance of showers in the morning. High of 61. Becoming partly cloudy Sunday night with a low of 38.

Central Alabama

Cloudy with showers likely in the late afternoon and evening. High of 65. Clearing overnight with a low of 40.

South Alabama

Showers likely with thunderstorms possible. High of 66. Cloudy with showers in the evening, then clearing overnight. Low of 42.

Gulf Coast

Showers likely with a thunderstorm possible. High of 72. A few showers in the evening, then mostly cloudy overnight. Low of 50.
