An Alabama woman was killed Wednesday in a head-on collision, state troopers said.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. Wednesday and claimed the life of Barbara A. McDaniel, 63, of Gordo, Alabama, state troopers reported Friday.

The wreck occurred on U.S. 82, approximately 4 miles east of Gordo.

McDaniel was driving a Honda Accord that ran into a Nissan Rogue driven by Cynthia Sullivan, 61, of Ethelsville.

McDaniel was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers reported. Sullivan was flown to UAB hospital in Birmingham.
