A fight between a group of people on Sunday led to a 5-year-old boy being shot Sunday, Alabama police said.

The child who was shot suffered a non-life threatening wound, Semmes police said Tuesday.

The shooting happened at a trailer park on Denmark Road in Semmes.

Police said the victim received an injury in the head and eye area. The child was taken to UAB Hospital for treatment.

Investigators said the shooting happened when a group of people were arguing and someone fired a gun and a stray bullet struck the boy who was inside a trailer at the property.

Police said they were looking for two persons of interest regarding the case, Jesus Manuel Venegas Rodriguez, 27, and Josue Mena Moron, 21.
