An Alabama judge ruled Thursday a suspect in beating a 2-year-old child to death should be held without bond
The suspect Keshan Allen, 30, is charged with the felony murder and aggravated child abuse in the death of his girlfriend’s 2-year-old son who was killed on May 12 in Athens, Alabama.
Allen appeared before a Limestone County district judge Gray West Thursday to consider his bond.
During the hearing prosecutors provided more details about the case.
Police received a call at approximately 10:24 a.m. on May 12 with the caller stating a child was unresponsive.
After emergency responders transported the child to a local hospital, the child was pronounced dead a short time later.
The child reportedly had bruises all over him, investigators said in the hearing.
The child died from blunt force injuries, investigators testified, with a ruptured liver and a broken collarbone, among other injuries.
