An Alabama man was killed and his passenger injured when their car struck a tree stump, state troopers said.

Ethan A. Cantrell, 20, was driving a Nissan 370Z on Pulaski Pike approximately 7 miles west of Hazel Green, Alabama, when his car left the road and struck a tree stump, state troopers said.

A passenger in Cantrell’s car was taken to Huntsville Hospital for treatment, troopers said. The accident occurred at approximately 5:55 p.m. Sunday.
