An Alabama woman has been charged with murder in the fatal shooting of her father, authorities said.

Angela Joy Vest, 40, was charged Monday in the death of Kenneth Dewayne Vest, 60, Priceville police Chief Rick Williams said in a post on Facebook.

She voluntarily asked for a meeting with investigators Monday and was arrested afterward, police said.

Her father was found dead with gunshot wounds Thursday after police were called about a shooting in the family’s home, where he lived with her.

Police said they initially released Angela Vest from custody last week after some questioning so they could further investigate the case.

It wasn’t immediately known if she had a lawyer who could speak on her behalf.

She is now being held in a county jail on $75,000 bond. Authorities have not immediately released any more details.
