How gas prices have changed in Dothan in the last week

The average cost to fill up at the pump moved just a couple of cents higher this past week. Oil prices have been relatively steady, while demand for gas is lackluster, keeping that average hovering around $3.50.

Lower gas prices have helped push inflation down in recent months, giving economists hope that the Federal Reserve could cut interest rates in the near future. However, hurricane season is expected to be busier than usual this year, potentially pushing prices higher over the next two months.

“For now, we’ll continue to see small price fluctuations as we await news of any hurricane-fueled refinery disruptions or other supply challenges as we head into the busiest weeks of the summer travel season,” GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said in a statement Monday.
