An Alabama motorcyclist was killed early Tuesday when his Harley Davidson motorcycle left the road, flipped over and ejected the man, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, and claimed the life of a Bankston, Alabama, man.

Walter D. Watkins Jr., 52, was fatally injured when the 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle he was operating left the roadway and overturned.

Watkins Jr. was thrown from the motorcycle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 13 near U.S. 278, less than one mile west of Lynn, in Winston County.
