How gas prices have changed in Montgomery in the last week

Analysts estimate that drivers will save hundreds of millions of dollars filling their tanks up this week as the price of gasoline experiences a decline rarely seen at this point in the year.

“It’s a great start to summer for those hitting the road,” GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said in a statement Monday.

The average cost for a gallon of gasoline dropped nearly 10 cents over the last week alone, according to AAA price data. The decline in prices is anticipated to accelerate over the coming weeks. Part of that is due to slipping demand and lower oil prices—the largest driver of price fluctuations at the pump.
