Dog fighting ring busted, 23 people arrested, 14 dogs seized, Alabama sheriff says

Nearly two dozen people were arrested and 14 dogs confiscated Saturday after Alabama sheriff’s deputies uncovered a criminal dog fighting ring.

Mobile County Sheriff’s Office deputies said at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday night, deputies executed a search warrant at a residence at 13020 Williams Avenue in Axis, Alabama.

Investigators said they arrested 23 suspects, confiscated 14 dogs and seized marijuana, the synthetic drug known as spice and several firearms.

Deputies were continuing to investigate the scene on Sunday morning.
