Man found slumped over motorcycle had been shot to death, Alabama police say

A homicide investigation was begun Wednesday after police found a man slumped over his motorcycle had apparently been shot to death in broad daylight.

The victim was identified as Obray Carter, 39, of Birmingham, Alabama, was found slumped over on a motorcycle, unresponsive.

He was found at approximately 12:30 p.m. on First Avenue South and Center Street South in North Titusville, police said.

Investigators said they believe the murder was a targeted one. Carter was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Police said they were uncertain if Carter was riding the motorcycle when he was shot or if he had stopped the motorcycle before the shooting.
