A domestic dispute early Monday left one person dead and another charged with murder, police in a small Alabama town said.

Atmore police said Fred Dale, 62, was charged with murder after a shooting stemming from a domestic dispute.

The shooting happened in the 100 block of Terrace Street, shortly after 4 a.m.

Dale was being held at the Escambia County Detention Center midday Monday.

Details of the shooting and the identity of the victim have not be disclosed.
