Two Alabama men were arrested, state officials said Monday, after the pair was found trespassing on state property near a prison and located 13 packages of contraband including a knife, pepper spray and dozens of mobile phones.

Alabama Department of Corrections officials said Tuesday that Matthew Cameron Jones and Richard Facison were caught Monday on state property near the grounds of Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore, Alabama.

Corrections officals said K-9 units were used to locate the pair and nearby investigators found the 13 packages.

Inside the packages, officials said. were a knife, pepper spray and 39 mobile phones.

Jones and Facison were both charged with prohibited activities, promoting prison contraband, criminal trespassing and possession of marijuana.
