Former Alabama parole officer charged with 8 counts child abuse

A former Alabama parole officer has been charged with eight counts of child abuse, authorities said.

Joddie Brooke King, 47, was arrested after a grand jury handed down an indictment of four counts aggravated child abuse and four counts of willful abuse of a child.

King had been working as a field officer for the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Parole in Morgan County.

She was arrested Monday afternoon and was released hours later on a $30,000 bond.

Details of the allegations against her have not been disclosed.
