An Alabama teen was killed Tuesday afternoon after the teen’s vehicle collided, head-on with a tractor trailer, state troopers said.

The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, and claimed the life of a Vernon, Alabama, teenager.

The 18-year-old was fatally injured when the 2014 Toyota Camry the teen was driving collided head-on with the 2019 Mack tractor-trailer driven by Robert A. Yates, 42, of Mathiston, Mississippi.

The teen was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Alabama 96 near the 2 mile marker, approximately nine miles west of Millport, in Lamar County.
