A traffic stop by sheriff’s deputies led to the discovery of what investigators say was a school worker engaged in a sexual relationship with a teen student.

The now former Alabama school worker was pulled over just before midnight Saturday by deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies identified the driver as Makayla Ann Anderton, 26.

Investigators said they became suspicious when they realized she was driving with a 15-year-old child who was not a relative of hers.

After an investigation, deputies charged Anderton with a number of sex crimes for her acts with the child over the last two months.

Investigators said the pair began talking with one another and eventually led to exchanging explicit text messages, photographs and videos.
