Alabama teen shot and killed after fight at convenience store

An Alabama teen who was shot and killed Tuesday after an argument that began at a convenience store but turned deadly.

Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said the teen killed was Jaylan Lee Jenkins, 16, of Birmingham.

Jenkins was shot and killed at approximately 8:28 p.m. Tuesday as he attempted to drive away from a convenience store after he got into a verbal disagreement with someone.

He was apparently trying to flee when an unknown suspect or suspects shot and killed him. He was found unresponsive inside his vehicle approximately four blocks away from the store on Jackson Street.
