An Alabama man was killed Friday when the ATV he was operating collided with an SUV, state troopers said.

Richard L. Hudson, 60, of Elrod, Alabama, was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

Hudson, who state troopers said was not wearing a helmet, was struck by a 2009 Ford Escape on Tuscaloosa County 140 near Elrod Road, troopers said.

The crash is under investigation.
