A 70-year-old Alabama was critically stabbed and then burned by a 13-year-old suspect, a local TV station is reporting.

The incident happened in the Chunchula community in Mobile County, FOX-10 TV reported.

The victim was reportedly found with critical stab wounds and was then burned.

Authorities said they arrested a 13-year-old suspect. Sources told the TV station that the victim had been stabbed twice and then purposefully burned. The house at the location was considered a total loss, the station reported, due to fire damage.

Neither the suspect’s identity, possible charges against the juvenile nor the circumstances that led to the assault have been released.
