An Alabama elementary school teacher was arrested on Monday and charged with public intoxication, a local TV station reports.

First-grade teacher Charlene Downs, 53, was arrested Monday and charged with public intoxication, WBMA-TV reported.

Downs, who works as a first-grade teacher at Blountsville Elementary School, was later released from jail on bond.
