An Alabama man was found guilty of murder this week after a jury found him guilty of engaging in a shootout while he was trying to rob two people.

A Mobile County jury has found Jacory Burage guilty of felony murder, the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office announces.

On the night of September 4, 2020, Allen Wilson and his cousin, Brian Williams went to purchase a gun at a location on Angus Drive.

The defendant, Jacory Burage showed up at the location wearing a ski mask and gloves while armed with a handgun and attempted to rob the cousins. During the attempt, a shoot-out occurred killing Allen Wilson.

“This was a dangerous situation that could have resulted in more than one death,” says Mobile County District Attorney Keith Blackwood.

Co-defendants in this case, Kenndrell Pettway and Ricardo Pettway have a status hearing coming up in April.

The State was represented by Assistant District Attorneys Clayton Williams and Dru Bishop.

Sentencing for Jacory Burage is set for March 21, 2024, in front of Judge Brooks.
