Alabama police say a naked man they found running in traffic who may have been struck by a car has been hospitalized.

The incident happened Monday in Mountain Brook, Alabama.

Police were called to a report of a naked man running in traffic on Euclid Avenue.

Reports indicated that the 38-year-old man may have been struck by a car. It was unclear if the man was struck or perhaps threw himself into the path of a moving car.

Police said the man was found in the roadway and that he was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment.

Police said the matter is still under investigation.
