How gas prices have changed in Gadsden in the last week

Rising oil prices are pushing up the national average for a gallon of gasoline by several cents this week. Tensions are boiling over in the Middle East, and continued Houthi attacks on shipping vessels in the Red Sea have analysts concerned prices could rise in the future.

“Recent GDP data and new attacks in the Red Sea have pushed oil prices to their highest level since November,” GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan said in a statement Monday.

Price increases are anticipated in the months ahead once the winter weather thaws and demand for travel picks back up. The seasonal switchover to more expensive warm-weather fuel blends, which produce fewer harmful emissions, usually happens sometime in the spring.
