Alabama Skies: Freezing weather returning to Alabama. How long will it last?

Published 8:39 pm Sunday, January 28, 2024

As our weather pattern changes, we’ll see a high pressure taking control of our forecast for a few days.

Many of us will begin the week under cloudy skies, but we should see plenty of sunshine by the end of the day. With the high pressure and clearing skies, our temperatures will also have a chance to dip Monday night.

We’ll have sub-freezing temperatures from the Tennessee state line all the way into southern Alabama with the mid-30s reaching all the way down to the Gulf Coast.

Tuesday will be slightly warmer, then we’ll cool down a few degrees midweek.

Our next chance for rain comes over the weekend.

North Alabama

Partly sunny with a high of 49. Mostly clear Monday night with a low of 30.

Central Alabama

Mostly cloudy early, then becoming sunny with a high of 51. Partly cloudy overnight with a low of 31.

South Alabama

Cloudy, then becoming sunny. High of 54. Overnight, cloudy with a low of 30.

Gulf Coast

Sunny with a high of 56. Mostly clear Monday night with a low of 34.
