Alabama man killed when pickup truck flips, state troopers say

An Alabama man was killed this week after his pickup truck left the road and overturned, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, and claimed the life of an Ashland, Alabama, man.

John A. Norrell, 54, was critically injured when the 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup he was driving left the roadway and overturned.

Norrell was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected.

Norrell was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional – Midtown, in Columbus, Ga., for medical treatment. On Saturday, Jan. 20, Norrell succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The crash occurred on Alabama 49 near the 52 mile marker, approximately six miles north of Goldville, in Tallapoosa County.
