Portions of Alabama still crippled with snow and ice blanket, state troopers say

Ice and snow continue to grip ports of Alabama with several counties having all roads deemed impassable, Alabama state troopers report.

The snow and ice that ripped through the South earlier this week continue to stymy regular life for hundreds of thousands of Alabama residents.

Alabama state troopers say motorists should continue to stay off the roads in the affected counties until they receive the “all clear” from authorities.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division has received reports of icy roadway conditions within the following counties.

• Lauderdale County – Ice and snow is present on roadways throughout the county. All county roads are deemed impassable.

• Lawrence County – Ice and snow is present on roadways throughout the county. All county roads are deemed impassable.

• Franklin County – Ice and snow is present on roadways throughout the county. All county roads are deemed impassable.

• Colbert County – Ice and snow is present on roadways throughout the county. All roadways are deemed impassable.

• Marion County – Ice and snow is present on roadways throughout the county. All county roads are deemed impassable.

• Winston County – Ice and snow is present on roadways throughout the county. All county roads are deemed impassable.

• Lamar County – Ice and snow is present on roadways throughout the county. All roadways are deemed impassable.

• Fayette County – Ice and snow is present on roadways throughout the county. All roadways are deemed impassable.

• Walker County – Ice and snow is present on roadways throughout the county. All roadways are deemed impassable.
