A homeless Alabama man has been charged with murder for allegedly beating a 70-year-old man to death.

Houston County Sheriff’s Office investigators say Justin Ryan Ammons, 20, was charged with the murder of Durwood Ard.

Ard was found brutally beaten to death outside his home on December 12 with what was described as several skull fractures.

Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza said the murder was “one of the most brutal” killings he’d seen.
