An 18-year-old Alabama man has been arrested in connection to a Monday shooting that left a teenage girl dead and a 9-year-old boy hospitalized.

Mobile County Sheriff’s Office deputies said they arrested T’Marvin Jones, 18, and charged him with reckless endangerment and tampering with evidence.

Investigators believe Jones was in the backseat of the car which was involved in a shootout with people in another vehicle on Monday afternoon on Interstate 165 in Prichard.

Investigators have said they believe the shooting was likely gang-related and that Jones may have been the target of the shooters in the other vehicle.

Deputies said they interviewed Jones for several hours but he would not cooperate with the investigation.
