Missing Alabama 4-year-old boy found safe, state troopers say

An Alabama 4-year-old who went missing Friday was found safe on Sunday afternoon, state troopers said.

On Sunday, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) took the lead in the search for missing 4-year-old Phenix Wilkerson, of Clayton.

Phenix was last seen on Friday, at approximately 12:30 p.m. in the area of Sid Bush Road in Clayton, within Barbour County.

At approximately 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14, Phenix was located safe and is currently being check out by medical personnel.

On Friday, Jan. 12, ALEA’s Fusion Center issued an Emergency Missing Child Alert concerning Phenix’s disappearance as well as shared the alert on ALEA social media platforms.

Immediately, ALEA’s Aviation Unit launched and responded to the area as well as ALEA Special Agents to assist with the situation. A multitude of law enforcement agencies and first responders responded to the scene and assisted with the search and rescue.a
