An Alabama woman was found shot dead in the driveway of her home early Wednesday morning, police say.

Investigators said police were dispatched to a report of a shooting in the 800 block of Green Crest Turn off Crestwood Boulevard in Birmingham at approximately 1:45 a.m.

They found a victim, identified as Mia Nickson, 21, of Birmingham, unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Birmingham police officer Truman Fitzgerald said investigators believe Nickson was shot in the driveway as the shooter or potentially shooters fled.

By mid-morning Wednesday, police said no arrested had been made.
