An Alabama woman was killed Saturday when the car in which she was riding veered off the road, struck a ditch and wound up submerged in water, state troopers said.

Regina L. Jones, 62, of Florence was killed at approximately 8 p.m. Saturday, state troopers said, when the vehicle in which she was a passenger ran off the road, struck a ditch and then was submerged in water.

The driver was reportedly also injured and taken to a hospital. The driver’s condition was not reported.
