Alabama Skies: Blustery, wet weather continues into Christmas; watching some cold mischief in the models for later this week

While most of the state will have rainy weather for at least part of the day Christmas, it’s almost beach weather on the Gulf Coast. Highs across the state will be in the 60s while the Gulf Coast will reach into the 70s with partly cloudy skies. Maybe Santa brought a kite for Christmas!

We’ll have Christmas-like weather Tuesday for the Second Day of Christmas. We’ll have a mixture of clouds and sun with much more seasonable temperatures.

Looking ahead, some models are showing a drastic drop in temperatures for the upcoming weekend. Just how cold will it be? We’ll wait and see. Another system is expected to move through. We’re not calling for snow right, but we’ll certainly have to keep an eye on temperatures and timing of any precipitation. Models are just showing a cold rain for most of us right now.

North Alabama

Rain and storms are possible with a high of 64. Wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour. A few more showers and storms are possible in the evening, then a slight chance of rain overnight. Low of 46.

Central Alabama

South Alabama

Gulf Coast

A chance for showers in the morning, then partly cloudy with a high of 72. Winds could gust up to 20 miles per hour. Mostly cloudy overnight with a low of 51.
