Two Alabama women were killed Saturday morning when their car veered off the road, struck a culvert and flipped over, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle accident happened at approximately 2:45 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 43 in Marengo County near the 102 mile-marker just north of Dixon Mills.

Tony Jones, 62, of Dixon Mills, was driving the 2023 Acura MDX and her passenger, Diane M. Mosley, 64, of York, were killed in the accident. Mosley was pronounced dead at the scene. Jones was transported to a local hospital where she died of her injuries.

Troopers said neither woman was wearing a seat belt.
