After several days of northerly winds keeping us dry and cool, the wind is changing direction. Now, we’ll have southerly breezes with warmer temperatures, clouds, and moist air.
Rain chances won’t begin for a couple of days, but they’ll be just in time for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We’ll also have a decent chance of thunderstorms, especially on Christmas Day.
As of now, models are holding back on severe weather. It looks like most, if not all, storms will remain below severe limits.
Jumping ahead, Christmas Eve will bring a 70 percent chance of rain for north Alabama, an 80 percent chance for central and southern parts of the state, and 90 percent chance for the Gulf Coast.
Christmas Day has a 90 percent chance of rain and storms for the north, 90 percent chance for central and southern, and 80 percent chance for the Gulf Coast.
