An Alabama teenager was killed Friday when the truck the teen was operating veered off the road and flipped, state troopers said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 11:13 a.m. Friday, and claimed the life of an Eclectic juvenile.

The 17-year-old was fatally injured when the 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche the teen was driving left the roadway and overturned, Alabama state troopers said.

The teen was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on Harrogate Springs Road, approximately 1 mile east of Wetumpka, in Elmore County.
