Alabama man killed, four others injured in two-vehicle collision, state troopers say

An Alabama man was killed and four others injured Monday when two cars collided, state troopers said.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 2:33 p.m. Monday, and claimed the life of a Eufaula, Alabama, man.
Israel Mendoza, 30, was fatally injured when the 2019 Toyota Corolla he was driving struck the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander driven by Athena Candic Richardson, 38, also of Eufaula.
Mendoza was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An 18-year-old, a 5-year-old, who were passengers in the Outlander, along with Athena Candic Richardson were transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
Soriano Mendoza Cristino, 36, of Eufaula, a passenger in the Corolla was also transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.
The crash occurred on U.S. 431 near the 76 mile marker, approximately 2 miles north of Eufaula city limits, in Barbour County.
