Pregnant Alabama teacher killed in head-on collision with 18-wheeler

A pregnant Alabama elementary school teacher was killed Friday morning after her vehicle collided with an 18-wheeler truck as the teacher drove to school, officials said.

Jennifer Chism Jones, 34, was killed in the collision at the intersection of U.S. 82 and County Road 20 in Centreville, Alabama.

She was pregnant with her first daughter, AL.com reported.

The Centreville Press reported that Jones was headed to teach at Randolph Elementary School with her two, elementary age twin sons in the car with her. They were injured and taken to hospitals.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, which flipped over on its side in the collision.
