Alabama Skies: ‘Oh, the weather outside is frightful’ if you have outdoor plans Saturday

A cold front is bringing the possibility of plenty of rain across the state, and most of the state has a chance for severe weather.
A Level 2 risk covers the northwestern corner of the state and includes Decatur, Athens, Florence, Hamilton, and Russelville. The main risks for this area include a tornado or two and damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour.
A Level 1 risk covers the rest of the state and include the same risks, but not as much confidence.
Strong to severe storms could begin as early as 6 p.m. for northwestern Alabama and will end around 10 a.m. in southeastern Alabama.
North Alabama
Showers and storms possible throughout the day. High of 67 with wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour. Saturday night, showers with a storm possible. Low of 45 with wind gusts up to 25 miles per hour. A storm or two could be strong to severe, especially in western regions.
Central Alabama
Showers likely with a storm or two possible. Fog early with a high of 69. Wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour. More showers and storms overnight. Low of 51.
South Alabama
A few showers and storms are possible. Fog early. High of 75. More showers and storms Saturday night with a low of 55. Wind gusts up to 20 miles per hour.
Gulf Coast
A few showers and storms with a high of 75. Fog early. Overnight, showers likely with a storm or two possible. Low of 56.
