A man was found dead inside a vehicle submerged in a pond, emergency officials said.

Huntsville, Alabama, emergency officials said a driver apparently veered off the roadway on U.S. 431, hit a culvert and drove into a pond in Hazel Green at approximately 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

The driver was not immediately identified, but officials recovered his body from the pond.

Madison County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the incident.
