An Alabama man has been charged with the murder of a mother and grandmother who was found shot to death inside a burning house, police said.

Montgomery police said they have arrested Darren Price, 32, of Montgomery with murder, two counts of first degree robbery, first degree arson and a firearms violation.

Price is accused of shooting to death Jacqueline Best, 39, of Montgomery, a mother and grandmother whose body was found inside her burning home.

Police allege Price shot Best to death and then set the house on fire.

Price was also identified, police said, as the suspect in two robberies that occurred on December 3 and December 6.

He was arrested Wednesday and was being held without bond.
