Jury convicts Alabama man of intentionally running over disabled man with car

An Alabama man has been convicted of assaulting a disabled man by running over him with a car, prosecutors said.
The Mobile County District Attorney’s Office announces that Joseph Pervito was convicted by a jury of his peers for first-degree assault.
On September 23, 2021, Pervito went to the victim’s home where Pervito’s ex-girlgriend was staying.
The victim, who was disabled, came outside to confront Pervito and at that time Pervito struck the victim with his car, causing serious physical injuries to the victim.
The state was represented by Assistant District Attorneys Katherine Wick and Coy Morgan.
Pervito will be sentenced on on February 6, 2024.
