An Alabama sheriff’s office worker has been terminated and charged with having an “inappropriate” sexual relationship with an inmate, the sheriff’s office reported.

Limestone County Sheriff’s Office investigators said that on Tuesday, investigators received information about an inappropriate relationship between an inmate at the Limestone County Jail and a Sheriff’s Office Employee, Tracy Agnes Shehorn, 56, of Athens, Alabama. A social media profile for a Tracy Shehorn listed her as being the kitchen manager for the sheriff’s office.

“At that time, both an internal and criminal investigation began,” sheriff’s investigators wrote on social media. “Investigators found probable cause to arrest Shehorn for custodial sexual misconduct and possession of a controlled substance.”

Shehorn was terminated from her position and was arrested. Shehorn was released from the Limestone County Jail on a $12,500 bond. Additional charges may be forthcoming, investigators said.
