An Alabama high school student was arrested after school officials say the student sent an email which threatened a school employee.

Lauderdale County School Superintendent Jerry Hill wrote on social media that the email was sent over the weekend from an outside the district Gmail account.

Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office investigators began working to determine the source of the email and discovered it was sent by a student at Brooks High School in Killen, Alabama.

The email allegedly threatened a school district employee and suggested potential violence would occur on the campus.
