An Alabama 9-year-old girl was killed Monday night when shots were fired into a home, police said.

Police said the shooting happened on Rhett Drive in Mobile, Alabama.

The girl was reportedly sleeping on a couch when the shooting occurred.

Several other children were reportedly also in the residence when the shooting occurred.

Police are investigating the shooting.
