Two people killed in plane crash in north Alabama

Two people are dead after a plane crashed shortly before noon in north Alabama.

According to a release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a plane crash occurred at approximately 11:57 a.m. Monday, Dec. 4, in Limestone County.

According to WAFF News in Hunstville, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office confirms the crash happened in the area of Alabama 127 and Witty Mill Road in Elkmont, in north Alabama.

Officials in the sheriff’s office also confirmed two fatalities in the crash.

The Federal Aviation Administration has been notified and is currently responding.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are assisting in securing the scene.

Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing.
